INDEPENDENCE 44^THANNIVERSARY MESSAGE

To: His Excellency the Governor General, The Prime Minister and his Cabinet Ministers, Leader of Opposition, Leader of the Independent group, Members of Parliament, The Honiara City Lord Mayor, Council members, The Provincial Premiers, Church Leaders, Chiefs, Elders and Community Leaders, all Business houses, Aid donors, NGOs, Members of the Diplomatic Corps, People living with disabilities and the good people of Solomon Islands.

Its my joy and privilege as DPM and Minister on behalf of the staff of Ministry of Infrastructure Development, to wish all Solomon Islanders, all visiting friends and the many friends of Solomon Islands living and working in Solomon Islands and overseas a Happy 44^thIndependence Anniversary.

This year is a challenging year, as we have experiences this COVID-19 community transmission that has been spread throughout our beloved Nation Solomon Islands. Yet we rejoice and thank the Almighty God for the success we have overcome the pandemic as a nation. On the troubling days, the nation has seek His Divine Grace and Wisdom, to direct on how we can navigate our nation to overcome the challenges and survive.

It is my prayer that we would all reflect on the past 44^th years and give glory to God for all the blessings we have received and thank Him for all the opportunities He has given us to learn some valuable lessons.

With God guidance we can keep Solomon Islands Independent and progressive by being responsible citizens.

Let us celebrate & enjoy the freedom to live independence to live independently in our country peacefully under God’s guidance as we build our nation Solomon Islands.
