From the Hon. Premier of the Western Province, all Hon. Members of the Executive, the Speaker and Members of the Western Assembly, the Provincial Secretary, all heads of department and staff, the Provincial Police Commander, all rank and file.

To the Government and people of Solomon Islands, the private sector in the Western Province, teachers in every Primary, Secondary and Vocational Center, Churches, Traditional Leaders, Resource Owners, Men, Women and Youths.

Easter Message:

Let this Easter Season bring joy as we celebrate in the true spirit and meaning of Easter. It is a time for reflection.

The Western Provincial Government has just passed a Budget aimed to take this province right through the next phase of our financial cycle – 2021/2022. Of course, there is requirement of a midterm review when a full Western Provincial Assembly then is to meet again for a relook into the budget.

During this celebration remind yourself of the Covid‑19 pandemic that is a very serious illness for us to be very wary during Easter programs. You do not know who will be next but as it is a bit out so let us all get ready and prepare ahead.

This Government is fully committed to the tasks big and small. May I appeal to everyone to comply with Covid‑19 rules on social distancing, avoid big crowds and learn the good habit and learn to wear masks when very necessary. Wear them properly. These are universal rules since the pandemic was first announced. We are only making reminders.

To the Citizens on the border be rest assured that we are completely in touch with you through PDC, PDOC, PHEOC, PEOC and relevant Covid‑19 stakeholders. Our frontline workers are working around the clock to bring help. Limit all movement, stay safe.

Take note that the State of Emergency has undergone an extension meaning that restrictions are in force such as on movement. Do not attempt to cross the border but keep away from it all.

We will do everything at our disposal to help you find ways to use this Easter Season as a time to reflect and refocus all priority.
