POLP Project

Introduction

POLP Project under Ministry of Environment, Climate Change, Disaster Management & Meteorology (MECDM) invites qualified vendors to submit quotations for the supply and installation of purified water stations at five schools in Honiara.

This initiative aims to provide clean and safe drinking water to students and staff, promoting health and environmental sustainability.

This can also help reduced use of PET water bottle and encourage students to carry reusable water bottles.

Project Overview

The project entails the delivery, installation, and maintenance of purified water stations. Each of the five schools requires one purified water stations each, making a total of 5 stations.

Scope of Work

The scope of work includes, but is not limited to:

  • Supply of 5 purified water stations (1 per school)

  1. St Joseph Tenaru
  2. Betikama Adventist School
  3. King George VI
  4. Honiara High School
  5. Selwyn Collage

  • Delivery to each school
  • Installation and setup at specified locations within the schools
  • Post-installation testing to ensure functionality and water quality
  • Training for school staff on operation and maintenance
  • Provision of a maintenance plan and warranty details

Specifications

Each purified water station should meet the following specifications:

  • Advanced filtration systems (removing contaminants such as lead, chlorine, bacteria)
  • Capability to dispense both chilled and ambient water
  • Touchless operation for hygiene purposes
  • Bottle-filling feature to promote the use of reusable bottles
  • System must connected to both rainwater and Solomon Water storage
  • Energy-efficient

Project Timeline

  • RFQ Issuance Date: [11th June 2024]
  • Deadline for Submission of Quotes: [21th June 2024]
  • Evaluation Period: [1 week]
  • Notification of Award: [28th June 2024]
  • Delivery and Installation Completion: [19th July2024]

Submission Requirements

Vendors are required to submit the following:

  • A detailed quote including unit cost, installation cost, and any additional costs
  • Product specifications

  • Warranty information and maintenance plan
  • Company profile and relevant experience
  • References from similar projects
  • Proposed timeline for delivery and installation

Evaluation Criteria

  • Quotes will be evaluated based on:
  • Compliance with specifications
  • Total cost
  • Vendor’s experience and references
  • Warranty and maintenance plan
  • Delivery and installation timeline

Submission Instructions

All quotes must be submitted by 21st June 2024 to:
Environment & Conservation Division
Outback Building, Rove, West Honiara

Quotes can be submitted via email or delivered in a sealed envelope marked “RFQ for Purified Water Stations.”
