VACANCY: CRANE OPERATOR

Solomon Islands Ports Authority invites application from suitable individuals with the relevant experience and skills to fill the position of Crane Operator. The Crane Operator is responsible for multi-skill operation particularly for cargo lifting and construction work.

Roles / Responsibilities
As a Crane Operator, you will have responsibility for (but not limited) to the following:
Responsible for the operation of a 70T crane for cargo lifting and construction work Operate a range of construction plant and dump trucks for the execution of civil and infrastructure works of the company.
Ensure plant and equipment remain operational by conducting required procedures for corrective and preventive maintenance including daily start-up and shut-down checks.
Report any breakdowns to Supervisor who will coordinate with the Mechanical Workshop for repairs.
Ensure that all plant, equipment and trucks are used for the sole purpose of the construction of civil and infrastructure works of the company.
Provide support to the Operation Department and other Departments of the company when requested.

Experience & Essential Requirements

Multiskilled operators and drivers experienced to operate/drive construction plant including but not limited to Cranes, Excavators, Backhoes, Loaders, Rollers, Graders, Bulldozers, and Dump Trucks.
The minimum requirement is 5 years’ experience in construction works and a current valid licence is essential.
