Ministry of Mines & Energy: SPIRES Project: Request for Expressions of Interest.

REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST

The MMERE is seeking to hire for the position below to help the Energy Division (ED) of the MMERE to provide the strategic and technical support needed for the implementation of the project.

The CTA is a part-time international consultant who will provide the strategic and technical support needed for the implementation of the project.

He will report directly to the project board and the UNDP Country Manager through the Resilient Sustainable Development Team Leader and Permanent Secretary MMERE through the Director, Energy Division and support the project manager in the daily operation of the project.

The CTA will provide capacity building to the project manager and project staff including the national project engineer.

An engineering background, in electrical, mechanical and civil calibres that have experience in the planning, design and installations of renewable energy technologies is a requirement to fulfill this role and must possess extensive project management experience, capacity development skills in skills and knowledge transfer.

The position is for an initial period All positions will work for the SPIRES PMU and closely liaise with UNDP Solomon Islands Country Manager and Resilient Sustainable Development Team Leader, Project Director, Director & Deputy Director Energy Division, Ministry of Mines, Energy and Rural Electrification, Deputy Secretary (GEF Operational Focal Point), Director Climate Change, Ministry of Environment, Climate Change, Disaster Management & Meteorology and in close consultation with other UNDP offices, other government line ministries and key stakeholders

The positions are for an initial period of up to 3 months (negotiable) with expected opportunity to renew up to a period of 6 months.

All positions will be selected in accordance with the Public Finance Management Act 2013, Part 9 – Procurement and Public Resources set out in the PROCUREMENT & CONTRACT ADMINISTRATION MANUAL, Section 4.
