PAYMENT OF OUTSTANDING LAND RENTS AND OTHER FEES
Annual land rents apply to all Fixed Term Estates in Solomon Islands, including the whole of Honiara and other registered land in the provinces. Fixed Term Estate owners are responsible for ensuring their land rents are paid every year. Don’t wait for a statement to be sent to you –it is your responsibility to be proactive and come to the Ministry of Lands to pay each year.
Failure to pay land rents can result in your Fixed Term Estate being forfeited and the land reallocated to someone else. I am actively forfeited Fixed Term Estate right now in Honiara and other parts of our country .to avoid forfeited of your Fixed Term Estate ,please visit the Ministry of Lands ,Housing and survey to pay your outstanding land rents .Bring with you a copy of the land register for your Fixed Term Estate ,and copies of any receipts you hold for previous land rental payments .If you have neither of these ,you can ask for a Rental Statement to show the outstanding amount owing.
Fixed Term Estate owners are thus put on notice to ensure your payments are up to date, otherwise forfeited, action may commence.
