Vacancy Notice

Background

The Solomon Islands Government, through the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change, Disaster Management and Meteorology (MECDM) has received funding from the Global Environment Facility (GEF 6), via the Implementing Agency, International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) to execute a national project with the objective to  ensure Effective ecosystem management for healthy, complementary networks of protected, productive and restored landscapes in selected Project Sites in the Solomon Islands.

The Ensuring resilient ecosystems and representative protected areas in the Solomon Islands (EREPA) Project will be implemented in selected sites in Guadalcanal, Malaita, Renbel and Temotu Provinces. The Project include the following components:

Component 1. Enabling environment for integrated terrestrial ecosystem management and restoration
Component 2. Formal declaration of terrestrial protected areas, and their effective management.
Component 3. Improved land management, agricultural practices and restoration interventions in rural production landscapes

MECDM in collaboration with IUCN has established the EREPA Project Management Unit (PMU) and is seeking expression of interests from qualified and experienced candidates for the following position:
