The Building Inspector role is part of the Malaita Provincial Government through its successive developments in Malaita Province believing that our Townships need proper inspection of our Buildings.

The role Building Inspector will assist the Lands and Housing Division of Malaita Provincial Government to make Building owners within our townships well face with compliance levels required by the Town and Country Planning Board, Property Rates regulations agreed upon by the Malaita Provincial Government.

This is to ensure we have effectively and efficiently administer our building regulations and standards within the five regions of Malaita Province.

Qualifications

To be a suitable candidate for the Job you must possess the following qualities

Degree or Diploma in Contraction Engineering or Structural Architecture from a Reputable Institution plus 3 years’ experience.

A Diploma in Carpentry Trade Studies plus 5 years’ Experience in Similar job would be a bonus.

Must be literate especially in reading housing plans.

Able to work under little supervision.

Must be outspoken and able to liaise well in a Multi-Cultural Environment.

Must have a customer orientated personality

Must work on Saturday s or possibly during odd hours
