NOTICE TO BUSINESSES
COMMISSIONER OF INLAND REVENUE DIRECTIVE TO ALL FORMAL WHOESALE AND RETAIL BUSINESSES TO USE A CASH REGISTER , OR AN OPTION OF USING AN EFTPOS OR POINT OF SALE (POS) MACHINE .
Further to my Notice of 28th July 2021 directing all formal wholesale and retail businesses to use a cash register or an option of using an EFTPOS or point of sale (POS) machine by the end of August .
A team of IRD Officers will be doing spot-checks to check that the cash register or electronic machines are being installed and operational.
Any wholesale or retail business not adhering to this notice by the due date (which is the 31st of August 2021) and are not using a cash register or Electronic machines or having the tapes will be penalised in accordance with the law.
This notice is effective to all wholesale and retail businesses in Honiara and the provincial centres.
