Teaching & Learning Coordinator

 The Education Sector Support Program is seeking suitable and highly motivated candidates for a long-term Teaching & Learning(T&L) Coordinator.

This position will be based in Honiara to provide capacity building, mentoring and support to strengthen strategic leadership to manage contracts and support the development and implementation of a learner-centered pedagogical framework

Reporting to the MEHRD’s Deputy Secretary T&L division, and the T&L Adviser, the Coordinator will also support the Director of T&L, Manager for National Examination and Assessment Division (NEAD), and the Heads of the Curriculum and Teacher Professional Development Divisions to:

  •  Strengthen the capacity and capability of MEHRD’s T & L division staff on effective and efficient contract management and delivery
  • Improve quality of curriculum resources, teacher professional development and student achievement.
  •  Foster cohesion across MEHRD divisions in supporting education reform and change. If you have any of the following skills and experience but not limited to, we would like to hear from you:
  • Tertiary graduate qualification in education, project management or an alternative relevant field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ professional experience in education or a similar field, with focus on policies, capacity building, procurement, contract management and risk management.
  •  Previous or recent education sector experience in the Solomon Islands, or the Pacific.
  •  Practical and relevant experience in project management including contract management and procurement processes.
