VACANCY NOTICE RE-ADVERTISEMENT – Expression of Interest for Job Opportunities at Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (AIM-N PROJECT)

The Agricultural Investment for Markets and Nutrition (AIM-N) Project is a government-led initiative implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAL) with co-financing from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). The project aims to enhance food security, nutrition, and rural livelihoods by promoting inclusive, climate-resilient, and nutrition-sensitive agricultural development in the Solomon Islands. Key interventions include improving market systems, empowering women through targeted grant schemes, and facilitating better access to finance for smallholder farmers, farmers’ organisations (FOs), and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the agriculture and agribusiness sectors.
We are re-advertising the following positions and invite qualified candidates to submit their Expression of Interest:
1. Inclusive Partnership Manager (Based at the Project Management Unit (PMU), Honiara)
Qualification and Experience
A Degree in Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Science, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related Discipline.
Extensive knowledge of contemporary issues in production and value chain systems within the Agricultural and Food Industry Sectors, particularly in developing countries.
A minimum of five years’ experience in agribusiness and value chain development, with spoken skills in the management and coordination of value chain enhancement initiatives and programmes within the agricultural sector.
Experience in establishing and building the capacities of the Farmers’ Organisation is desirable.
Have a creative, energetic, but pragmatic approach to problem-solving and an appreciation of the respective roles of the public and private sectors in rural economic development.
Computer literacy is requisite, and a good command of spoken and written English is essential.
Must be fully aware of and alert to the crosscutting issues of gender, youth, and marginalised groups, discrimination and poverty targeting.
2. Partnership Development Officer (Based in Taro, Choiseul Province)
Qualifications and Experience
A Degree in Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Science, Agribusiness, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related discipline.
A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in Agribusiness and value chain development, with proven skills in management and coordination of value enhancement initiatives and programmes within the agricultural sector.
Experience in establishing and building the capacities of the Farmers’ Organisation is desirable.
Computer literacy is requisite, and good command of spoken and written English is essential.
Must be fully aware of and alert to the crosscutting issues of gender, youth, and marginalised groups, discrimination and poverty targeting.
3. Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Officer (Based in Gizo, Western Province)
Qualifications and Experience
Degree in Social Science, Rural Development or related discipline.
Interest and commitment to gender and social in clusionissues.
Previous experience or interest and commitment in agriculture and rural development projects.
Interested and committed in support to designing and delivering training modules. Highly motivated and committed to gender equality and social inclusion.
Must be fully aware of and alert to the cross cutting issues of gender, youth, and marginalised groups, discrimination and poverty targeting.
