VACANCY NOTICE FOR SIFF TDS ACADEMY HEAD COACH (AHC)

The Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) invites applications from qualified and motivated individuals for the position of AHC. Reporting to the SIFF TDS Manager and Technical Director, the position will play a major role in overseeing the welfare, health, safety and academic and football progress of the academy players.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• The development, implementation and improvement of the SIFF TDS football programme covering technical, tactical and fitness elements with a view to improving the technical skills, tactical awareness, physical fitness, and overall game intelligence of players.
• Developing the SIFF TDS player recruitment model and its improvements
• Enforcing stricts models of discipline, culture of hard work and respect among academy players
• Manage the development of each individual player in the programme the recruitment and management of supporting coaches.
• Outlining the quarterly technical training programme
• Be responsible for and maintaining register of academy equipment and submitting requests for new equipment incl. balls, bibs, uniforms etc.
• Liaise with the medical staff on the health and safety of players.
• Link with national teams and other SIFF programmes such as Iumi Play to deliver an unified football training approach or philosophy.
• Develop and supervise scouting initiatives.

Technical Roles and Responsibilities:

• Conducting or supervising all training sessions
• Developing detailed training sessions attached to the monthly programmes
• Maintaining data of training sessions and players with a focus development mental progress of the players
• Producing quarterly reports on the progress of each player
• Assessing academy players in matches and relating their performance to their training needs

Compliance Responsibilities:

• Ensure all coaches full-time or part-time are trained in safeguarding practices.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Strong leadership skills
• Fit and health state of mind and body.
• Good communication skills
• High level of proficiency with Microsoft productivity software
• Good organizational skills
• Previous experience in teaching sector

  Qualifications:

• Minimum OFC B-License Coaching Certificate or equivalent issued by professionally recognized football institution.
• Minimum diploma in social work, education, sports management or related from a recognized tertiary institution.
• At least 5 years’ experience working as a head coach.
