JOB BRIEF

The Sol2023 Pacific Games Organizing Committee is looking for a Graphic Designer to create engaging and on-brand graphics for a variety of media.

We see graphic design as visual storytelling that engages, informs, and inspires our audiences in the country and across the Pacific region. As such, we are looking for a highly creative Graphic Designer to join our Graphics Team who can take conceptual ideas and create visual representations, both in print and online media.

Our ideal candidate will have good knowledge of current design software and be skilled with every step of the design process.

Collaborating with multiple teams within the Games Organizing Committee, the Graphic Designer should be able to take direction from written or spoken ideas and convert them into a design that connects.

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of branding and marketing, with the ability to vary style and layouts depending on the project.

OBJECTIVES OF THIS ROLE

Work on a wide range of projects and media, using various computer software to visualize and develop innovative graphic designs that meet the 2023 Pacific Games’ needs.

Immediately work with the Sol2023 Graphics Team in creating the 2023 Games branding.

Obtain input from the Communications and Marketing Team and the Sol2023 Graphics Team, ensuring designs meet Games standards and brand expectations, express ideas accurately, and represent the Sol2023 Pacific Games appropriately.

Work independently and cooperatively on multiple projects with the Communications and Marketing Team, meeting deadlines, and scheduling project implementation based on workload, which may include 2 or more simultaneous projects at once during peak time of preparation.

Update and maintain internal databases of designs, photography, and video.

DAILY AND MONTHLY RESPONSIBILITIES

Collaborate with the Communications and Marketing Team and the Sol2023 Graphics Team for a wide range of materials that may include web pages, presentations, programming collateral, signage, banners, internal communication, newsletters, marketing materials and billboards.

Work withSol2023 Graphics Team to design and upload materials when the Sol2023 Pacific Games website is ready.

Layout and design of the Sol2023 Games Monthly Newsletter and other materials when required.

Skills and Experience

 

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

Creativity and innovative design skills

2+ years experience with design software, including Illustrator, InDesign, Photo shop etc.

Proven experience with graphic design

Excellent communication and presentation skills

Organizational and time-management skills for meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Photography and Videography experience and proficiency with photo-editing and video editing software would be an advantage.
