SIFF: National Academy Logistics Officer Post

Overview of Position

The SIFF National Academy Logistics Officer (NALO) is crucial to the establishment of the national football academy.

This role involves overseeing the safe transportation of students to and from school and managing other driving-related tasks essential for the academy’s administration and operations.

The NALO must exhibit exceptional driving skills, a steadfast commitment to safety, and a nurturing attitude towards students.

Key Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities of the NALO shall include the following:

Safe Transportation: Operate the academy bus safely and responsibly, following all traffic laws and school district regulations.

Student Safety: Ensure the safety of students while boarding, riding, and alighting from the bus. Monitor student behavior to maintain a safe and respectful environment.

Route Management: Follow established routes and schedules, making adjustments as needed for delays or changes. Report any issues with routes or schedules to the Transportation Coordinator.

Pre-Trip and Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure it is in good working condition. Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns.

Record Keeping:Maintain accurate records of bus routes, student attendance, and any incidents or disciplinary actions.

Communication: Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff. Address any concerns or issues promptly and professionally.

Emergency Procedures: Be prepared to handle emergencies, including medical situations or accidents, according to established protocols.

Vehicle Maintenance: Keep the bus clean and in good condition. Report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel.

Daily Tasks and Duties:

The daily tasks and duties include the following:

Daily drop off and pick up of students from their schools

Transportation of students to other programmes and activities as required

Performing daily vehicle checkups and keeping the vehicle clean and reporting any issues or problems

Maintaining a daily vehicle usage record for reporting to the Academy Manager

Other driving tasks as assigned by the Technical Director or Academy Manager

Qualifications

The required qualifications for this position are:

Min. Solomon Islands School Certificate or equivalent

Valid Driver’s License with appropriate vehicle class certification

Min. five (5) experience as a public transport driver

Additionally, the applicant must not chew betel nut,smoke or consume alcohol.  This position requires physical work and therefore we will seek a candidate that is fit/healthy.

The applicant will be required to complete FIFA Safeguard training if successful.
