Overview of Position

The SIFF National Academy Goalkeeping Coach (NAGKC) is crucial to the establishment of the national football academy.

The NAGKC supports the Head Coach in planning, implementing, and overseeing training programs and activities for athletes within the academy.

This role involves assisting in the development of players’ skills, fostering a positive team environment, and contributing to the overall success of the academy’s sports programs.

Key Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities of the NAGKC shall include the following:

Training Session Preparation and Execution: specialized training sessions developed and implemented for goalkeepers

Skill Development: identifying key areas for improvement and implementing targeted training for high level skill development

Game Preparation: Organizing warm up sessions for goalkeepers and in-game support and performance assessment as well as post-match feedback.

Record Keeping: Maintain a record of the performance of athletes

Mentoring: Providing support and leadership for athletes

Compliance and Safety: Ensure that all training activities and drills comply with safety regulations and protocols to prevent injuries.

Code of Conduct: Enforce the academy’s code of conduct, promoting discipline, respect, and sportsmanship among goalkeepers.

Daily Tasks and Duties:

The daily tasks and duties include the following:

Work alongside equipment manager to ensure set up the necessary equipment for training sessions, including cones, balls, and goalkeeping gear.

Design and prepare specialized training sessions for goalkeepers, focusing on techniques such as shot stopping, positioning, handling, and distribution.

Conduct goalkeeping drills and exercises during training sessions, working on skills such as diving, catching, punching, and one-on-one situations.

Provide one-on-one coaching to goalkeepers, addressing specific areas for improvement and customizing drills to enhance their skills.

Provide constructive feedback to goalkeepers based on their performance during training and matches. Use video analysis to review and discuss technique and decision-making.

Develop and monitor individualized training plans foreach goalkeeper, setting goals and tracking progress over time.

Maintain detailed records of goalkeeping performance, including training attendance, progress reports, and injury updates.

Ensure that goalkeeping equipment is well-maintained, organized, and available for use during training and matches.

Monitor and manage any injuries or physical issues that goalkeepers may experience, coordinating with medical staff for recovery and rehabilitation.

Attend team meetings and coaching staff discussions to contribute insights on goalkeeping performance and integrate strategies with the overall team plan.

Qualifications

The required qualifications for this position are:

At least a SIF3 Certificate

At least OFC C License in Football Goalkeeping Coaching

At least two (2) experience in coaching goalkeeping or playing

Additionally, the applicant must either present prior training in computing or be able to demonstrate basic computer proficiency.

The applicant must not chew betel nut, smoke or consume alcohol.

This position requires physical work and therefore we will seek a candidate that is fit/healthy.

The applicant will be required to complete FIFA Safeguard training if successful.
