Overview of Position
The SIFF National Academy cooks (NA Cook) are responsible for preparing meals required by the athletes of the programme based on the specified nutritional programme.
The cook shall ensure that food is prepared in a healthy, safe and timely manner in line with the daily programme of the academy.

Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of the NA Cook shall include the following:
Meal Preparation:
Prepare and cook nutritious meals for players, coaches, and staff according to the academy’s meal plans and dietary guidelines.
Create diverse menus that cater to various dietary needsand preferences, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and allergen-freeoptions.
Menu Planning:
Collaborate with nutritionists or dietitians to developmeal plans that support athletes’ performance, recovery, and overall health.
Plan meals that meet the caloric and nutritionalrequirements of active individuals.
Inventory Management:
Manage inventory of food supplies and ingredients, including ordering and stocking as needed.
Monitor food quality and ensure that all items are stored properly and used within their shelf life.
Food Safety and Hygiene:
Adhere to all food safety regulations and hygiene standards, including proper food handling, sanitation, and cleanliness.
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
Special Requests and Dietary Restrictions:
Accommodate special dietary requests and restrictions from players and staff.
Ensure that all dietary restrictions are taken into account when preparing meals.
Kitchen Maintenance:
Maintain kitchen equipment and utensils in good working condition.
Report any maintenance issues or malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other kitchen staff and academy personnel to ensure smooth operation and communication.
Assist in training and supervising junior kitchen staff or apprentices if applicable.
Administrative Duties:
Keep records of food inventory, meal plans, and any incidents related to food safety or quality.
Assist in budgeting and cost control related to food and kitchen operations.
Daily Tasks and Duties
The daily tasks and duties include the following:
Prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner for the athletesinvolved in the national academy programme in a timely manner
Cleaning of the cooking equipment and kitchen after foodpreparation
Maintain daily record of usage of the food stock andreporting to the programme administrator for what to include in the weekly foodorder
Ensure food is stored safely and securely and disposingof expired or food not suitable for consumption
Consult with the academy coach for special mealrequirements and planning of meal times
Qualifications
The required qualifications for this position are:
At least a SISC Certificate in Education
Prior training in food preparation is a bonus
Previous experience in the culinary profession is a bonus
The applicant must not chew betel nut, smoke or consume alcohol.
This position requires physical work and therefore we will seek a candidate that is fit/healthy.
The applicant will be required to complete FIFA Safeguard training if successful.
