Overview of Position

The SIFF National Academy Assistant Coach (NASC) is crucial to the establishment of the national football academy.

The Academy Assistant Coach supports the Head Coach in planning, implementing, and overseeing training programs and activities for athletes within the academy.

This role involves assisting in the development of players’ skills, fostering a positive team environment, and contributing to the overall success of the academy’s sports programs.

Key Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities of the NASC shall include the following:

Assist the Head Coach in designing and delivering training sessions that enhance players’ technical skills, tactical understanding, and physical conditioning.

Provide individual and group coaching to athletes, focusing on skill development and performance improvement.

Evaluate player performance and provide constructive feedback to help athletes reach their potential.

Help in the preparation and planning of game strategies, tactics, and lineup selections.

Assist in analyzing game footage and providing insights for team and player development.

Monitor players’ academic performance and personal well-being, working with other staff to address any issues that arise.

Participate in staff meetings, coaching clinics, and professional development opportunities to stay current with coaching techniques

Ensure all training and game activities adhere to safety protocols and regulations.

Promote and enforce the academy’s code of conduct, emphasizing sportsmanship and fair play.

Daily Tasks and Duties:

The daily tasks and duties include the following:

Meet with the head coach to outline the session plans for training sessions

Set up the training ground based on the session plan provided by the head coach

Ensuring that the training venue is safe and secure for training sessions

Guide equipment manager to ensure all equipment required is prepared and set up for training and returned to storage

Conduct appropriate warm up sessions, recovery sessions etc.

Assist the head coach with match preparations

Assisting with maintaining a record of the player’s physical and training data

Occasionally, conduct video recording of training sessions and matches and preparing the footage for review sessions

Qualifications

The required qualifications for this position are:

At least a Certificate in Education or Related Field from a recognized tertiary institution

At least OFC C License in Football Coaching

At least two (2) experience in coaching youth players

Additionally, the applicant must either present prior training in computing or be able to demonstrate intermediate computer proficiency.

The applicant must not chew betel nut, smoke or consume alcohol.  This position requires physical work and therefore we will seek a candidate that is fit/healthy.

The applicant will be required to complete FIFA Safeguard training if successful.
