Yes, a Christmas tree is something we cannot do without during this season. Because a tree is a significant symbol for this festive season in celebrating the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. Even without all fancy decorations, Christmas trees are special because they remind us of this season, that we shall love one another and stay together in peace and prosperity. So, as we celebrate, let us reflect on its symbol and remind ourselves of the importance that tree provides for us traditionally, economically, socially, and the ecological services that a tree did for us collectively in our forests, and embrace the good deeds we’ve achieved and learn from our mistakes.
Let us also remind ourselves that, our forests with its biodiversity have been created as a sustainable resource for our benefit and the benefit of our future generations. In this regard, we will continue to have oversight over its management in partnership and collaboration with all stake holders and our resource owners for better and improved forestry services that will benefit all now and, in the years, to come.
Let us continue to work together hand in hand in 2023, in advancing our beautiful nation Solomon Islands towards peaceful co-existence and economic prosperity.
MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL AND MAY THIS JOYFUL SEASON GREET YOU WITH GOOD HEALTH AND HAPPINESS AS WE STANDTOGETHER FOR 2023.
