Happy 43rd Anniversary Independence

I extend to you all my best wishes and Happy Independence Day Celebrations. As a relatively young Nation, let us reflect on this day on what we have achieved, where we have faltered and more Importantly how we can move forward as a country and one people towards better living standards for all.

The Ministry i am responsible for plays a safeguards role in our development. We thank our local and international partners for their support in our work programmes. Our economy and way of life is underpinned by an environmental and natural resource base, which needs the cooperation of all in their use to meet our needs and that of our future generations.

The vagaries of the weather, disasters, climate change, environmental change, human behavior and globalization call for carefully planned developments to be underpinned by the Shift towards a low carbon and risk resilient economy.
