Ministry of Education And Human Resources: NATIONAL TECHNICAL ASSISTANT TO SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE CHILD PROTECTION IN SCHOOLS GUIDELINE

Background

The Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development (hereafter as ‘MEHRD’) is committed to achieve the Education goal of equitable access to quality education for all children.

In line with the Education Legislative Framework (ELF) and the National Education Strategic Plan 2023 –2027, MEHRD is obliged to fostering a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment in all schools, where children can study and thrive without fear of violence or discrimination.

Recognizing the significant role schools play in this endeavor, it is important that students feel secure within their educational settings. School leaders and teachers are also in the best position to identify children who may be in harmful situations outside the school. MEHRD has developed a draft child protection policy for schools, which outlines procedures and protect all students from harm.

As per the Education Legislative Framework, this policy needs to be translated into actionable guidelines. MEHRD is seeking Technical Assistant to facilitate this translation process and ensure effective implementation of the policy.
